Surface Water Drains

The Problem;
The surface water drains are not functioning, these run off the east via a ditch that is completely blocked.   The ground water table is high and the boiler room is flooded.   The ground, as a result, is saturated to the north of the Church and in areas of the Churchyard to the south. The rainwater down-pipes generally discharge directly into the ground.

The Rectification;
The drains have been blocked for some considerable time and clearing out and repair will be difficult.   It is, therefore, intended to clean out the ditches and install a new surface water system in the Churchyard including the forming of gulleys at the base of the rainwater goods.
